Best Used Cars Under 20 Lakh in Pakistan (2026)

From the Suzuki Cultus to the Honda City and imported Vitz — the used cars that give you the most for PKR 20 lakh this year.

Twenty lakh rupees no longer buys a brand-new hatchback in Pakistan, but it still buys a very good used one — and, if you shop carefully, a comfortable sedan. Based on thousands of live ads on Car.net.pk and feedback from our inspection team, here are the best used cars under PKR 20 lakh in 2026, grouped by what you need from them.

Best all-rounder: Suzuki Cultus (2017–2021)

The second-generation Cultus (the "Celerio" shape) is the safest used buy under 20 lakh. The 1.0-litre K10B engine returns 14–16 km/l in the city, parts are everywhere, and the automatic (AGS) variants are within budget on 2017–2019 cars. It is light, easy to park and cheap to insure. Check the AGS actuator on automatics and look for accident repairs on the front bumper and bonnet, which are common on city cars.

Best for families: Toyota Corolla XLi/GLi (2012–2015)

An older Corolla still makes sense. The 1.3-litre 2NZ-FE engine is nearly indestructible, the cabin is spacious and resale is guaranteed. Budget for a 2012–2014 manual or a 2015 GLi automatic at the top of the range. Look for genuine mileage — many of these cars have crossed 150,000 km — and check the steering rack, rear shocks and the AC compressor. Read our Corolla vs Civic guide if you are choosing between the two.

Best value sedan: Honda City (2014–2018)

The fifth-generation City with the 1.3 i-VTEC is the quiet achiever: smooth engine, comfortable ride, excellent economy (13–15 km/l) and a roomy boot. Prices for 2015–2017 automatics sit comfortably under 20 lakh. Check the CVT for smooth take-off, the rear suspension for knocks and the power windows. The 1.5 Aspire variants offer alloy wheels and better trim for a little more.

Best small automatic: Suzuki Wagon R (2018–2022)

Tall, practical and surprisingly quick for its size, the Wagon R is the taxi-driver's choice for a reason. The 1.0-litre engine and AGS gearbox give 14–17 km/l, and later VXL variants have decent equipment. It is not the most refined car on the motorway, but for daily city use it is hard to beat. Confirm the odometer against wear and ask for the service book — many Wagon Rs have done serious ride-hailing mileage.

Best imported hatchback: Toyota Vitz / Passo (2014–2018)

Japanese-import hatchbacks bring features and refinement local cars cannot match: push-start, keyless entry, touch-screens and excellent build quality. A 2015–2017 Vitz 1.0 or Passo 1.0 in grade 4 condition fits the budget. Check the auction sheet (ask the dealer for the original and verify it online), avoid cars with "grade R" or repaired flags, and make sure the registration was done properly at import. Parts are available in the big cities but cost more outside them.

Best 1000cc sedan feel: Suzuki Swift (2013–2018)

The previous-generation Swift 1.3 offers a solid, European-style feel with sharp steering and a comfortable cabin. Automatics from 2015–2017 are within budget. Fuel economy is modest (11–13 km/l) but reliability is strong. Check for suspension wear and interior rattles.

Best for rough roads: Daihatsu Mira / Suzuki Alto 660cc (2019–2022)

If most of your driving is on broken roads or you need the lowest running cost, a 660cc kei car is the answer. The local Suzuki Alto VXR automatic (2019–2021) and the imported Daihatsu Mira ES with its remarkable 20+ km/l economy both fit under 20 lakh. Expect a small cabin and slow motorway pace, but almost nothing to spend on maintenance.

Honourable mentions

  • Honda Civic Rebirth (2012–2014) — style and space at the top of the budget; check the gearbox and the AC.
  • Suzuki Mehran (2017–2019) — still the cheapest car to own in Pakistan; buy a late one with low mileage.
  • KIA Picanto (2019–2021) — modern, comfortable and available as an automatic; early cars are now under 20 lakh.
  • FAW V2 (2018–2021) — a lot of car for the money; verify parts availability in your city.

How to make 20 lakh go further

  1. Buy the best condition, not the newest year. A well-kept 2016 car beats a tired 2018 car every time.
  2. Search by city. Prices in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad differ by up to 10%; a car registered in a smaller city can be cheaper but harder to resell.
  3. Negotiate with data. Use the fair price range on each Car.net.pk ad and compare with similar live ads.
  4. Keep a maintenance reserve. Hold back 5–10% of your budget for tyres, a service and small repairs after purchase.
  5. Get it inspected. A Car.net.pk inspection costs a fraction of one hidden engine repair.
